Comfort Birds are smoothly finished wood carvings meant to be held in the palm of the hand. We call them comfort birds because they come with a verse from the bible specially chosen to bring the recipient an encouraging word of comfort. Each basswood bird is hand-carved and sanded porcelain-smooth, and finished with a clear varnish. It arrives packaged in a hand-made origami gift box.

The included comfort card has an outer message that reads “This little bird was lovingly hand-carved to bring you comfort & a message of hope.” Inside the card is printed your choice of Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged.” or Matthew 6:26-27 “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”
