One of the wonderful things about living in New England is that you get to enjoy an amazing display of fall foliage in Autumn. The kind of fall foliage that people drive hours to see. And it’s in your yard. And along your street. And even in the grocery store parking lot. But even with its abundance, I never tire of seeing it. This print was inspired by a particularly amazing tree on one of those spectacularly beautiful Indian-summer kind of fall days, when the sky was pure blue, the sun was warm, and this tree was cloaked in a I-can’t-believe-that-color kind of orange. I wanted that feeling, that moment, to last forever.

This is a four-color woodcut. Each color of the image was carved in reverse from cherry wood, then inked and printed using hand pressure and a baren. Four colors = four different wood blocks, each inked and printed individually. Every print is numbered and signed by the artist. There may be slight variations between prints because of the nature of the hand-printing process. Each unframed print is packaged in a clear plastic acid-free envelope.
